If you fill out a FAFSA, you could be eligible for grants and loans through the federal government. Also, several beauty companies and organizations offer scholarships for students interested in cosmetology. The Beauty Industry is Growing
A lot of parents wonder if this industry will be right for their child. Can you really make a living as a cosmetologist? Of course you can! According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, “employment of barbers, hairdressers, and cosmetologists is projected to grow 10 percent from 2014 to 2024, faster than the average for all occupations. Most job openings will result from the need to replace workers who leave the occupation.” As far as salary goes, cosmetologists have the flexibility to make it what they want. The better you work, the more you earn. It’s as simple as that. The BLS states that the top 10% of cosmetologists earn more than $22.79/hour.
Beauty School Takes Less than a Year
If you want to start your career as soon as possible, cosmetology is the way to go. In just under a year, you’ll graduate and be on your way towards a creative and rewarding career. If you’re interested in skincare and waxing, you can earn your esthiology degree in just four months. You’ll have a job you love in no time.
