It’s a new year, and with the new year, come brand new trends! We’re ready to try them all!

Light Contouring

The days of the cake face are over! You’ll see far less heavy contouring in 2017. This year is more about strobing, light blush or light bronzer. You’ll want glowy, fresh skin this year.

The Natural Brow

Embrace your natural brow in 2017. Hard pencils and defined brows are a thing of the past. Natural and slightly untamed brows are the hot, new trend. All you need is a little bit of pencil or powder, as well as a spoolie brush and brow gel. Fill in the gaps in your brows, and your good to go!

Graphic Liner

Bold, graphic lines are the latest way to dress up your eyes. Black liner on the top and bottom will bring attention to your eyes. In the summer, you can brighten things up with neon or pastel eye liner.

Messy Curls

We love even, soft curls, but 2017 is the year for uneven, tousled and somewhat messy curls. To achieve this look, grab your curling wand, texturizing creme or sea salt spray for “big hair, don’t care” hair. (We’re a fan of the KMS Hair Play texture product line!)

Bye Bye Braids

Braids aren’t going to drop off the face of the planet, but if runway shows are any indication, this year is all about the “power hair.” Think slicked back ponytails, half-up hairstyles and clean top knots. Updos this year will be crisp and cool.

Glossy Lips

Whether it’s a natural color or something bright, lips will be topped with shine and gloss in 2017. We still adore matte lipstick, but the trendy lip will definitely be shiny this year.

In 2017, especially in the spring and summer, orange will be your best friend. Fiery reds and orange metallics will don our eyelids, and orange ombre lips will be all the rage.

The MoMu

Dare we say….the mullet is back? London Hairdresser of the Year finalist Karine Jackson is bringing back the mullet. A mullet is short in the front and long in the back, but according to Jackson, if a stylist adjusts it for face shape and age, the MoMu can work for anyone. The new MoMu is much softer than the mullet from the 80s. It’s blended and tapered, and much easier to wear.
