Here’s What You’ll Learn in Esthiology School

They say beauty is more than skin-deep, but beautiful skin makes that beauty even more radiant. In esthiology school, you’ll learn international trends and specialized techniques to purify, balance and renew skin, as well as techniques in makeup application. Hands-on training will also teach you how to perform facials, waxing, body treatments, and makeup application techniques. Plus, you’ll learn extensive business-building skills, giving you the foundation you need for a rewarding and creative career as a licensed skin esthetician!

Laws, Codes, and Bookkeeping in Esthiology

Having the skills to be an amazing esthetician will get you far in this industry, but to really succeed, you’ll need the business know-how. That’s why the best esthiology programs should include laws, codes, and bookkeeping. You’ll also learn about the history of skincare and the ethics in this business. Finally, you’ll learn about sanitation since the health of your clients should be a number one priority.

Anatomy and Physiology

Since you’ll be working with bodies, it is so important that you understand the body’s muscles, bones, and pressure points. You need to know how skin works and how products and techniques interact with the body. You’ll even learn some chemistry. There’s a lot more book work involved in esthiology than you may think, but for the well-being of your clients, you need to know this stuff!

Treatments, Products, and Techniques

This is when you really become hands-on. In esthiology school, you’ll learn how to give different types of facials based on skin needs. You’ll also learn about body treatments, chair massages, body wraps and waxing. At VICI Beauty School, you’ll also learn to perform Brazilian waxing, which is very popular. If you’re interested in makeup, esthiology would be perfect for you. You’ll spend time learning about makeup and color analysis during your esthiology program, too.

Electricity and Machines

There are several machines you’ll use as an esthetician, but before you can use them on a client, you need to know what they do and how to use them safely – obviously! You need to understand esthiology equipment to really give your clients the glow they want.
